Eyebrow Piercing Information
Pain Level 3-5/10
Most clients find an eyebrow piercing more manageable than they expected. The area has some nerve sensitivity, but the tissue is relatively shallow and the needle passes through quickly. What tends to linger is mild soreness and some swelling in the first few days, which is normal.
Eyebrow Piercing Healing Timeline
Healing Time: 6–12+ months
Surface piercings like the eyebrow tend to heal on the longer end of the timeline. The tissue is shallow and exposed to more movement and contact than deeper piercings, which means healing can be slower and less linear than expected. Even when the piercing looks settled from the outside, the tissue underneath may still be working.
The most important thing during healing is minimizing unnecessary pressure and movement at the site — avoiding glasses frames that sit directly on the piercing, sleeping positions that press on it, and anything that causes repeated friction. We will walk you through the specifics so you know what to protect and what to watch for.
Downsizing
Downsizing an eyebrow piercing is assessed at your six-week check-up and done if the fit calls for it. Initial jewelry is sized to leave room for swelling, but once that resolves, excess length can create unnecessary movement that the healing tissue does not need.
Because eyebrow piercings are surface placements, we are particularly attentive to how the jewelry is sitting at that appointment — whether it is under tension, shifting, or showing any early signs of migration. If everything looks stable and well-placed, we leave it. If an adjustment would serve the healing, we make it then.
A piercing starts in the studio, but the healing process is each client's responsibility and can’t happen here. At Stacked, we require our clients to come back in for a six-week checkup. This way, we can help troubleshoot any concerns you may have, take a peek at the healing piercing, and give advice as needed.
